Crypto Portfolio Tracking App Development

Myntkaup is a financial platform for the Icelandic market. Users can deposit funds, trade a variety of crypto assets, generate financial reports, and track their profit and loss (PNL) in real-time. The platform offers instant ISK-to-crypto transactions, a user-friendly interface, and full regulatory compliance, making it the fastest way to invest in cryptocurrency in Iceland.

Our primary goal was to enhance the platform by adding more cryptocurrencies, refining the trading process, and integrating new financial tools. We also optimized the back-end, refined both the mobile and web versions, and improved the UI/UX for a great user experience.

The project required balancing multiple complex areas at once. We needed to support a growing list of cryptocurrencies, ensure accurate financial calculations, and maintain compliance with local regulations. At the same time, the platform had to remain fast and easy to use. One of the main challenges was building the Profit & Loss (PNL) feature from scratch, using transaction history and historical exchange rates.

We refreshed the platform’s interface while keeping its signature blue theme, making it more modern and easy to use. The layout was optimized for both mobile and web to ensure a smooth experience across devices. We also built an admin panel to track transactions and analytics.

The home screen gives users an overview of their crypto holdings, showing their total balance, recent transactions, and live market updates. Users can easily switch between different cryptocurrencies, track price changes, and access key financial insights in real-time.

The platform supports fast crypto purchases using fiat currencies. Users can buy Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other assets using EUR or USD, with support for quick input options like percentages of balance. Before confirming a trade, users see a preview with the latest exchange rate.

Multi-currency support was implemented with careful handling of different decimal formats to ensure accuracy.

The platform supports a growing list of cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC, and various altcoins. Since each currency has a different number of decimal places, we adjusted the system to make sure transactions are processed correctly.

Profit & Loss tracking is a key feature of the platform, which allows users to monitor their portfolio performance over different timeframes (7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or all time). Built from scratch, this feature accurately calculates gains and losses by processing transaction history and matching each trade with historical exchange rates. Interactive charts were implemented using React Native Skia to make data easy to understand.

Users can easily add or withdraw funds through bank transfers or cryptocurrency transactions. Bank deposits allow ISK or EUR transfers via an integrated payment system, while crypto deposits generate a unique wallet address with a QR code for quick transfers. Withdrawals work the same way — users can send money to their bank account by selecting a currency and entering their details or transfer crypto by manually entering a wallet address or scanning a QR code.

Users can send cryptocurrency gifts within the app. The system generates a digital certificate that can be redeemed by another user. The platform also includes a detailed transaction history with the ability to generate reports for accounting and tax purposes in PDF, Excel, or CSV formats.

Users can review past trades, deposits, and withdrawals through a detailed transaction history. For tax and accounting, they can generate balance reports for a selected period and export them in PDF, Excel, or CSV formats.

We developed an admin panel for managing platform activity. Admins can monitor user accounts, track deposits and withdrawals, and oversee trading activity in real time. This supports operational control and compliance requirements.

The platform now serves 20,000+ users in Iceland and ranks #1 in the finance category on the App Store. The improved UI, added trading features, and regulatory compliance updates have made Myntkaup a leading cryptocurrency exchange in the region.
